Church has always been a big part of my life, but, then again, I really didn’t have much choice. I’m a preacher’s kid. When the doors were open, my family was there. Despite all of that, however, I never saw myself as a pastor (and for that matter, neither did most of my teachers!). Needless to say, God had different plans. After graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne University (that other Lutheran college) in 1996 with a BA in psychology and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary four years later, I was ordained in August of 2000. Before coming to Pisgah, I served at Summer Memorial in Newberry, SC (2010 – 2016), Peace Lutheran in Gibsonville, NC (2000-2006) and Pilgrim Lutheran in Lexington, SC as the Pastor of Nurture and Outreach (2006-2010).

My wife, Staci, and I have two beautiful daughters (not that I’m biased or anything), Rachel and Mary-Margaret. Aside from spending time with my girls, I like to play golf (poorly), read, write, and play Xbox (You won’t find many preachers who will admit that!). Basically, I just love to have fun!
